Black Forge Art has been making weathervanes and bespoke metalwork since 1989. Our weathervanes are made to order by our experienced metalworkers, with every component carefully fabricated, welded, assembled and checked before leaving the workshop.
Our designs combine the character of traditional British weathervanes with modern stainless steel construction, allowing us to produce detailed silhouettes without compromising strength, movement or weather resistance.

Every Black Forge Art weathervane is carefully balanced to rotate freely on a hardened stainless steel pin and ball bearing mechanism, allowing it to respond smoothly to changes in wind direction.
The weathervane top simply sleeves onto the bearing pin, creating a strong and reliable pivot point designed for permanent outdoor use.
What Does a Weathervane Do?
A weathervane, or wind vane, shows the direction the wind is coming from. While many modern weathervanes are primarily decorative, every Black Forge Art weathervane is designed to be both decorative and fully functional.
What Are Your Weathervanes Made From?
Our weathervanes are handmade from 304 grade stainless steel and designed for permanent outdoor use. The stainless steel construction is rust-free and backed by our 15-year guarantee.

Which Size Weathervane Should I Choose?

What Is the Difference Between the Laser Cut and Traditional Blacksmith Builds?
Our Laser Cut Build uses clean, modern laser-cut and folded stainless steel construction. Our premium Traditional Blacksmith Build is a heavier construction featuring a hand-forged one-piece NSEW cross.

Which Mounting Bracket Do I Need?
The correct bracket depends on where your weathervane will be installed. We offer mounting options for walls, gables, posts, roof ridges, chimneys, cupolas and other locations.
Can You Make a Bespoke or Personalised Weathervane?
Absolutely. We can create a completely bespoke weathervane from a photograph, sketch or idea. We’ll create the design and send you a visual for approval before manufacture.
Our weathervanes are handmade to order, with a typical lead time of approximately 2–6 weeks. If you need your weathervane for a particular date or special occasion, please contact us before ordering and we’ll confirm what is possible.
